Birthday Spice

This year Spice really understood it was her birthday. She had a few celebrations and thoroughly enjoyed each of them.

The morning of her birthday, she tore into her presents; then that night she blew out her candle on the first try, and then licked the icing off of it. On Sunday she sat on her cousin's bicycle and made enjoyed a hot dog, then made everyone take turns pushing her on the bike, since she's still too small to peddle it. And finally, she shared the spotlight with her sister - who she insisted blow out the candle on the cake.

It all went to show me that it's OK to be laid back about this party stuff. With Sugar I ran around like a maniac, getting all this stuff together for parties. With Spice, I just don't have the time and energy. I actually hadn't planned to do anything other that give her presents on her actual birthday, but Saint Aunt insisted we do a cake. Then, I planned a little something for Sunday, but I kept it so low-keyed and it couldn't have been more perfect for everyone. Spice had a great time playing with her sister and cousins, getting presents - Almost everyone bought her Dora stuff.

OMG, in that picture with the hot dog, she looks just like her big sis.

DOESN'T SHE?! And in addition looks absolutely beautiful. Girl, you're gonna have your hands full in a few years!

I know how you feel about the B-day deal. I'm on my 3rd child and I feel bad because I've lost my motivation for big parties. I don't mean to deprive Zachary of all the hoop-la, but I'm tired. LOL! An I conveniently use the excuse that he doesn't even understand b-days yet, and I'll do stuff when he gets bigger.
